Celebrating Seafarers and Promoting Safety

Today, we join the global maritime community in celebrating Day of the Seafarer, a momentous occasion recognised by the United Nations and organised by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). This day is dedicated to celebrating the remarkable efforts of seafarers who navigate the oceans, ensuring a seamless flow of goods and resources that drive our global economy.

#SafetyTipsAtSea

For 2024, the IMO campaign highlights the seafarers' crucial role in prioritizing safety at sea by sharing their best safety tips with the hashtag #SafetyTipsAtSea.

Appreciation from Garrets

In recent years, we have had the pleasure of celebrating this day alongside our partners at Sea Health & Welfare, treating seafarers to well-deserved cakes in selected ports – and this year is no different.

Hamish Cook, Managing Director of Garrets, says: “The seafarers are more than just professionals – they are the backbone of international trade and the true heroes of our industry. Their dedication, resilience and hard work keep the world connected, making it possible for businesses to thrive and communities to flourish.”

Join us in raising awareness and showing gratitude to seafarers everywhere. Let’s celebrate their achievements and continue supporting their welfare.

Happy Day of the Seafarer!
